Karl Strauss Brewing Company joined families, local businesses and neighbors at Liberty Station on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, as the craft beer sponsor of the first Harvest on the Promenade.
Inspired by small-town harvest celebrations, the festival brought live music, local makers and seasonal food and drinks to the North Promenade. Hundreds of hand-carved pumpkins filled the Glowing Hollow, while the Harvest Stage gave visitors a sound track for a weekend spent exploring and enjoying San Diego’s fall weather.

We were proud to be part of this new community celebration. Throughout the weekend, visitors stopped by our booth to sample from cans, chat with our team and discover a new favorite.
We brought three favorites to the Promenade, with something for IPA fans, seasonal beer drinkers and anyone looking for a refreshing alternative.
Oktoberfest (5% ABV): Our Märzen-style lager fit right into the fall festivities. Deep golden and smooth, it pairs toasted malt character with subtle floral flavor and aroma from Hallertau Perle hops. A fitting toast to the festival’s first year. Prost!
Tower X West Coast IPA (7.3% ABV): Piney, resiny aromas and citrusy hop flavor brought a taste of San Diego craft beer to the celebration. Brewed with Citra, Chinook, Cascade, Centennial, Simcoe and Sultana hops, Tower X nods to our friends at 91X and Lifeguard Tower 10 in Mission Beach, where our brewery’s story began in 1989.
Hard Cherry Cola (5% ABV): Sweet cherry, familiar cola flavor and a crisp finish made our hard soda a fun option for visitors looking to try something beyond beer.
Sampling gave guests a chance to explore the lineup, with full pours available to purchase at the festival’s on-site bars.
Some of our favorite moments were the simple ones: meeting new people at the booth, seeing families enjoy the music and watching visitors discover the small businesses that helped make the festival special.
Bringing people together has been part of Karl Strauss since we opened in 1989. Harvest on the Promenade gave us another chance to share that spirit beyond our brewpubs and connect with the San Diego community.
