Conscientious use of both water and energy are paramount to our brewery operations and we have wholly invested in optimizing these processes to reduce our carbon footprint wherever we can.  It’s part of who we are and our core identity. To us, words are empty without action, and we stand behind our actions.

Ongoing Efforts

  • Providing all of our spent grain to local famers to use as feed for livestock free of charge
  • Using sustainable, recylable packaging for all of our beers
  • Exploring alternative fuel usage and greater fuel efficiency for our delivery fleet
  • Using environmentally friendly to-go containers and menus in our Brewpubs

We regularly support local grassroots non-profit organizations based in San Diego through a combination of fundraising and participation. Our commitment to being a sustainability-focused company means going beyond the walls of our brewery and brewpubs and personally contributing to causes we believe in.

We host annual cleanups with the Surfrider Foundation at our local beaches as well as in the Rose Canyon area where our brewery is located with I Love A Clean San Diego.

Pathway Ale & beautifulPB

In 2015, we partnered up with our friends at Amplified Ale Works to brew “Pathway Ale”, an on-going collaboration series to help raise funding for local community project, PB Pathways.

The project is organized by “beautifulPB” a public non-profit charity focused on creating a sustainable and more beautiful Pacific Beach. The goal of the PB Pathways project is to build a network of safe neighborhood routes encouraging people to walk, bike, or skate to their destinations; ultimately making PB a safer and friendlier place for pedestrians, bicyclists, and skaters.
