Thank you to everyone who made it out to our first Karlfest in Orange County! The event was a success--check back in the coming days for pictures and more info!
About the event: Karl Strauss Brewing Company has been hosting benefit events (aka Beer + Music Fests) in San Diego for 5 years now and we figured it was time to share the love with Orange County. We are very excited to announce that we are moving Karlfest up to the Costa Mesa Brewery Restaurant location.
So what exactly is Karlfest? Karlfest is our take on Oktoberfest done SoCal style—live music, tons of beer, and great food. This year, in addition to Karl Strauss beers, the event will feature beer from several Orange County breweries. And in keeping with the local theme, we are proud to have three very talented local bands playing at the event: The Union Line, Aushua, and Satisfaction.
In addition to being a great beer event, Karlfest is also a chance for us to give back to our local community. As a company, we have supported the Surfrider Foundation for many years and we are pleased that Karlfest 2008 will directly benefit two local chapters of the Surfrider Foundation--the South Orange County and Newport Beach chapters.
Karlfest is our namesake event for the late Master Brewer, Karl Strauss. Karl passed away two years ago, but his passion for brewing lives on through the legacy he left with us and many others in the brewing world. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Karl Strauss Brewers Education Fund—a scholarship fund established to help fund the education of aspiring brewers in Southern California.
This event is a great chance for us to come together as a brewing community in Orange County and support two great causes. The event date is Saturday October 4th from 12pm-4pm. The event will take place at 901a South Coast Drive – in front of our Costa Mesa Brewery Restaurant.
